Why do we learn Religious Education?
Pupils are expertly taught a variety of religions and beliefs in order to ensure that regardless of their background, children know more, remember more and can do more within the RE domain. By considering the spiritual, moral , social and cultural aspects of each belief children will be equipped to understand the world from the perspective of others and make informed choices about their own position. Therefore, children are empowered with the skills and knowledge needed to access and master the subject in the world beyond Franklin. This intent is rooted in Ark Franklin’s values, mission and approach to teaching and learning.
Our approach
Children at Franklin have access to a carefully sequenced RE curriculum which is aligned to that mandated by the local authority. Children experience an RE day every half term and visit sites of worship woven into their growing understanding of each of the world’s major faiths and beliefs: Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Humanism.
