You may well have heard that two teachers’ unions have balloted their members in relation to taking strike action with regard to Government proposals to alter pension arrangements. The National Union of Teachers and the Association of Teachers and Lecturers will be taking strike action next Thursday 17 October 2013. I am giving you advance notice that I may have to close the school on that day if I cannot ensure a safe level of supervision for pupils throughout the day. I will let parents know on Monday of my decision.
As you may be aware the National Union of Teachers and the Association of Teachers and Lecturers will be taking strike action on Thursday 17th October. Teaching staff have had the courtesy of informing me if they will be involved in this.
Therefore the following classes will be closed on Thursday. Parents of children in these classes will need to make alternative arrangements for this day.
Sheffield class – Ms Hoskin – Year 3
Birkbeck class – Ms Kearns – Year 4
Durham class – Mr Taylor – Year 3
Lincoln class – Ms Whittington – Year 3
Exeter class – Mr Williams – Year 6
THE REST OF THE SCHOOL IS OPEN AND CLASSES WILL BE RUNNING
If you were due to meet your child’s class teacher on Thursday as part of parents evening this has been re-scheduled for the same time next Thursday 24th October. If you are unable to make this then please contact your child’s teacher to make an alternative parents evening time.
Many thanks for your understanding in this matter.
